Need to rebuild Rear end

Can anyone point me in the direction of a rebuild kit for a 1967 C20 suburban?

Re: Need to rebuild Rear end

Welcome to the board fellow Suburban owner!

If you are not sure about the question above, as in what type of axle you have which is important.

Is the differential cover round? if it is, it's an "Eaton" style axle.
If the differential cover is other than round, it will be a "Dana" brand most likely.

Eaton's are difficult to get some important parts for, especially if you want to do a complete overhaul. Gear set choices are slim, and some bearings are tough to locate. Plus, add to that a lot of axle shops won't want to work on an Eaton. Personally, if a shop poo poo's an Eaton then they are not all that any ways. So it's just a sign to you to move on to the next shop.

Dana's are very common, and getting parts/gears is pretty easy to accomplish. Enough said on that.

Both axles are tough units none the less.
