Not sure exactly what went wrong yet, but my TH 350 messed the bed in my 72 C10.

Cost to rebuild and install was $796 or $1165 for a rebuilt level 3 700R4 installed.

Going with the 700R4 for the OD as i do some highway driving. Would have been putting it in next year with the crate motor, so just pushing the expense up a year.

I was hoping to drive it out to Pate this weekend, but looks like will be taking the Edge.

if you could find a 200 r4, it is a bolt for bolt change. No cutting the driveshaft, no moving the bolts. I have had both in my trucks, and prefer the 200, because of the ratios built into the transmission. You might need to fiddle with the firmness of the shifts after the install, but IMO it is worth it.

the long shaft TH350 driveshaft will let the 700R4 bolt right up,

Just move the crossmember back a lil

time for GenIII swap, LQ9 and 4L80e! Depending on what crate motor you are looking at, cost might not be too much different actually...

and yeah, I've got a TH350 that has some governor problems right now, and I'm hoping those don't potentially lead to other problems...

200R4 would also be a great option the way I see it though, good points cparman!

Turns out the lines cooling the tranny through the radiator were not flowing well and the TH 350 basically cooked itself slowly from the heat.

Going with the 700R4, level 3. While I am at it, doing a one piece drive shaft, roller rockers, head valve covers, new belts & hoses all around, and a K&N air filter.

Hopefully have it back on the road this weekend, next week body shop for new mirrors and badges and fixing a few blemishes.

Dont mean to highjack ya thread, and by the way sorry about the tranny issue!
If I have a SWB V8 truck and the engine is in the factory location and I have a 350 th with short tailshaft how long would I need my 1 piece driveshaft to be?? Just messuring from end to end not the yoke!
Got a answer, I hope so.lol

none of these trucks came with long tailshaft TH350
