Rear Disc Conversions?

What is an inexpensive way to do a rear disc conversion?

Are there any OEM stuff that can easily be modifed or people who sell brackets for C5/C6 stuff etc?

Got a look at those CTSV calipers today, it would be nice to have something big on my truck....without the big price tag....

Thanks

Re: Rear Disc Conversions?

Take a look in the Vendor Marketplace forum. Capt Fab just put together a new kit that uses OEM or aftermarket parts.

Re: Rear Disc Conversions?

I am doing the glock conversion. Uses camaro rear calipers. Will look nice with drilled and slotted rotors.
I used 99 z28 rears on my nova. They will bolt up with any 10 bolt rear end. Just have to make sure your spacing is right.

Re: Rear Disc Conversions?

I just did a conversion on a 14 bolt with brackets from ballistic. It uses stock front rotors and calipers for a 3/4 ton.

not to sure about that statement.... 10 bolt cars is different from 10 bolt trucks... otherwise the LS1 rear caliper brackets would bolt on (which they dont). I have also started designing c-5 brackets with internal e-brake... but have no test rear end or parts. so I dont expect the design to leave the comptuer screen unlike the 13.8" rear disc conversion I just performed on my silverado.

I also do not know if the front rotor "hat" is the same as the rear. I say that because another member bought the mcgaughs kit and it uses C-5 front rotors for the rear. You have to machine the axle flange O.D. to fit if I recall correctly..

Re: Rear Disc Conversions?

well I have done the swap on my Nova and it works on my Nova. Not sure about trucks. The truck is getting the glock set up.

Re: Rear Disc Conversions?

How about front kits to go bigger?

Anything out there for that?

Re: Rear Disc Conversions?

I'm not making the kits anymore. CaptFab is making his version of my brackets now.

Mine used late 90's f-body rear calipers and Impala SS/Caprice cop car rotors, and those had an integral e-brake.
