Drilling Rotors?
What is involved? I am planning on trading for a set of 5x5 rotors and spindles. But, I am wanting to change it to 5x4.75 to match my vette rearend.

www.PerformanceOnLine.com sells a truck rotor that has the 5x4.75 pattern already.
These will work as long as your spindles will work with a 1.25" wide rotors. (not the 1" wide rotors).

Do you just lay out the pattern and drill it? How do you put the studs in?
Sorry I have never fooled with the brakes much!!! I plan on having a friend of my dad's do it for me. He works in a CAT machine shop. |

Those holes promote cracks as does a chamfer. It's best to radius the holes to eliminate sharp edges, as opposed to a chamfer. Will also eat pads more quickly.

BB 72 Impala brakes go right on the truck spindles and are 4.75 pattern. Crossdrilling works fine if you dont drill thru the venting..... Never had a pair crack and I have done dozens of sets.

Advanced Auto Parts charged me 100.00 out the door for rotors, calipers, pads, bearings, and dust caps. 72 to 73 will work for sure. Take your wheel bearings down to the parts house and test fit to the races. This is a VERY cheap upgrade for the 67 to 70 trucks and the rotors are 12.25 diameter.

Will 1980's models C-10 spindles work on my 69 arms? what do I need to make them work? Might trade my 6 lugs for a guys 5 lug off of an 84!

You will have to change the upper and lower ball joints, and outer tie rod ends.

As long as your '69 is a C10, just change the balljoints and everything else will bolt up. Does your '69 already have power steering?

It is a c-10. SO I will just need the newer ball joints. I have a dropmember so the tierods wont be an issue.
