Header Issues

I bought Hedman Headers for my 69 C/10 2WD shortbed 350 with Muncie M22 4speed. I am trying to install headers but they dont fit! They are hitting on the rear side of bottom a-arms. I put A-arms from a '86 C/10 with its spindles. Could that be my problem?? The headers claim that they fit from 67-87. The truck has been dropped 3" in front and 4" in rear. Help me out guys! Thanks!

Re: Header Issues

I HAD THE EXACT SETUP IN A 71 SHORT FLEET (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A 400 SMALLBLOCK) I TRIED SEVERAL SETS OF HEADERS WITH NO LUCK UNTIL I TRIED A SET OF HOOKER COMPS. THEY ARE NOT MUCH MORE MONEY BUT CLEARED ALL MY 4 SPEED LINKAGE. HOPE THIS HELPS. JOHN

Re: Header Issues

I got the Hedman as well, had to reroute a brake line, bash in the driver side tube cause it hit the arm, and a few other things as well, I will never recommend them to anyone...

Re: Header Issues

I got hedmans on mine and they fit fine. I had to clearance the frame on the passenger side and they are close to the lower A arm on the drivers side but they fit.

Hey JunkyardJohn! Thanks for the comment. Did you have the newer/'86 a-arms on yours as well? Thanks man!
