year of cab???
I have started working on my project truck and am using a rust free cab from a donor that has no tag or anything on it. I know that it is 1981 to 1987 as it has the built in hood hinges but are there any other differences??? I know I might be getting myself into trouble as I ripped out the wiring harnass along with just about everything else so I can clean up the whole cab before paint but would like to know if I can take parts from any 81-87 to put it back together or if I need to find certain years. When I got it there was no dash, drip rails, dash pad, glovebox or much else inside, but the metal is absolutely spotless. Might have had a little work done on the drivers rear pillar as there are a couple of weld spots in the door opening but other then that it needs sanding and painting and then alot of assembly.
Thanks for any info.....

Re: year of cab???
67-72's had some differences with e-brake and throttle pedal assemblies, which I am guessing are the kinds of differences you are referring to. But I think the 81-87 cabs are all the same, so aside from some cosmetic appearances it shouldn't matter much what you put back in as long as it was from a 81-87 cab originally.

Re: year of cab???
84 n up has no wiper switch hole in the dash as the wiper switch was then put on the column. So if you got a dash that still has the windshield wiper switch hole its 81-83 then.
thanks pat

Re: year of cab???
In 1984/5 (have to check my notes) they started using galvanized floors. And around that same time they started putting the plastic stuff on the pans to "stop" rust from leaks which leaves a good place for water from leaks to hide to make rust....
