ot/ my girlfriend got a DART today
its no prize but she has wanted one for a long time and we found this locally. its a 67 GT, had a slant 6 but the previous owner took it out and junked it, it will get a small block anyway (318 prob.) pretty much original, had some body work in the past (and some hideous seat covers, lol) but otherwise its all original. sorry for the off topic post but im so happy i have a car chick (even if it means more work for me, lol) anybody know of any good mopar sites???

Congratulations! Looks like you and your girlfriend have an awesome project ahead of you! I love Darts. Especially Swinger Darts with 340s, or the famous 1968 Hemi Dart. Mmm, I'd love to have a Dart. You're both lucky people! Have fun!

Nice find! Nothing better than 60's American muscle. Never was a big Mopar fan but I have a ton of respect for them. I would take that one anyday of the week. Congrats to you and your G/F........

My dad had a Valiant with the slant six. His was actually turbocharged. He'd run the freeways in LA and beat all the big block chevys & fords! One he!! of a sleeper! He now has a '35 dodge truck he is building with the 225 slant six. They are a good engine and you can probably get one a lot cheaper than the V8!
I love the old mopars! I used to have a '70 Challenger and my brother and I did a quick restore job on a '68 Charger one summer. In high school, my friend had an opportunity to buy a '70 Dart 340 for $600. Unfortunatly, his mom wouldn't let him get it. Have fun with it. This is a pic of my old Challenger

My dad had a 69 Dart Swinger 340 4 Speed Smoked a Horse with it you can kinda figure out what it looked like. He said the horse was in the passengers side seat beside him !

Congrats! Looks like a great car. I had a 76 4-door with a slant six. Probably the most reliable car I've ever owned. Sold it with 227k on it. Always wanted to put a v-8 in it, but the 6 just wouldn't die.

I had a 71 Swinger with a 318 and it was “peppy”.
My brother had a 68 GT with the factory 273 4bbl engine and limited slip rear. It would run circles around my 318. I also had a 67 Cuda with a 273 2bbl in it and it was not the motor that the factory 273 4bbl was. The factory 273 4bbl had higher compression and solid lifters in it. Just food for thought. You never know what you can find out there bouncytruck I dig that Challenger body! |

Too bad you aren't near Nebraska. I got an HP 383 for sale. It is in pieces and needs some machine work and full rebuild. I believe it was originally a 335 horse motor, but actually put out more than that. It would make that dart scream like a raped ape. I graduated HS with a girl who drove a 67 dart, 360 4bbl, 727, 4.10's with a suregrip out of a 69 roadrunner. She let me drive it one time in the school parking lot. Needless to say, burnouts get detentions. hehe. Anyway, good luck with her dart.

Here's another Mopar site.. just stick to the technical forums though, they get a little rowdy in the non-technical forums..
