Project type SS
Hello everyone,
just wanted to share my 64 C10 build with everyone. I had the frame sand blasted and I coated it with chassis saver. I brushed it on so it would be thicker. Chassis saver is awsome by the way. Took a hammer to my frame and did not even scratch the paint. I attached the a picture of it right before I finished the bottom of it. I also attached a picture of the new 2 1/2 drop spindle, rotor, caliper, bearings, splash guard and ball joints. I also have new bushings, brake pads, springs and shocks all around. Can't wait to get her done and on the road. I also attached a picture of my other trucks. I'll start on my 53 as soon as I get the 64 done. Last edited by 64N53Kustomz; 05-06-2010 at 11:15 AM. Reason: share my build |

Re: Project type SS
Sorry it took so long to get back on the site. I will be moving by the end of the month so i've been busy. Not as much with the truck as I'd like but busy.
Plans, Pacific Blue Pearl paint, with maybe a white top. Interior blue and gray, with an all Alpine Sound System. Two twelves, Type SS. As you can figure out that's where the name comes from. Well that and the engine. Its a 76 Vette Engine with 400 heads. Mild cam, Edelbrock RPM Air Gap Intake, Holley 650 Double Pumper and hooker headers. 700 Trans with a shift kit. Here are some more pics. I put the rear end on so I can roll it out of the garage and do some much needed cleaning. I painted it tonight, and will put it back on tomorrow. |

Re: Project type SS
Hey everyone again,
I't been a while since I gave an update, it been busy. had to pack up and move and work has been crazy but anywho. Here are some more pictures of the project. Cab is back on, rist 2 pics are of the rear frame section. Had to remove rear frame brace to allow for the rear mount gas tank. The rest of the pictures are of the tank on the truck. Rollin on 17 wire wheels until I figure out what wheels to put on. So far though I'm liking the wire wheels. It gives it a LOWROD look. I will try and take a pic of the truck with the bed back on. I have to C notch the bed sills for the tank to clear the bed. I have it sitting on 2x4s for now, but hopefully in a few weeks I will get it done and get the inner fenders sand blasted so I can start putting the rest of the body panels on and ride it like that for a while until I get the money for body and paint. Well hope you all like what I've done so far. |

Re: Project type SS
What up everyone,
Had some parts sandblasted and got them primered. hopefully I'll get some time to start putting the truck back together. I also got a new sway bar kit with all new bushings. here is a pic of me painting the fenders and inner grill. I also attached a picture of my engine before I started doing the frame off. Since then, engine has been painted chevy orange but still the same chrome dress up kit, just really dusty. Last edited by 64N53Kustomz; 03-24-2011 at 08:15 AM. |

Re: Project type SS
So, had it almost ready to start when...starter attching point broke...So one had to come out and another engine ready to go in. I was lucky not to have sold my spare engine...just needed paint and new gaskets.

Re: Project type SS
Built a cradle for the cab so i can finish up the chassis work. Once I figure out my u joint issue it's on to brake lines and fuel tank fuel line.

Re: Project type SS
Figured out the issue with my u joint. Installed them, the driveshaft and also welded in the transmission crossmember. Pictures of the progress.

Re: Project type SS
If you ever have to remove the trans, the trans crossmember will have to come out

Re: Project type SS
I've had to remove it and although it wasn't easy I did without removing the crossmember. In any case thanks for the insight. I had not thought about that
