Questions, Questions?

I have a few questions for those of you who have done frame off. I am one way or another going to have the truck down to the frame, so my question to you all is this: What should I do to paint the frame? should I clean the frame and use that Por15 (I Think thats its name?) OR should I Powder coat it? Also should I worry about rivets on the truck and replace them with bolts? Thank You for all you input and help!

Re: Questions, Questions?

I use POR exclusively. Awesome stuff. Click on my build link below. I would only powdercoat a frame if the truck was going to be a trailer queen piece of garage furniture.

Your right I do plan to drive it not just onto a trailer! Well looks like POR is the way to go. What prep work is needed? Also what about loose rivets?

Re: Questions, Questions?

I would leave solit/tight rivits alone personally. They'll last another 40 years. Loose ones, I'd remove and ream out the hole for a bolt. I can't remember the sizes, but the rivits are between normal bolt sizes. If you put one in that's too small, it won't do the job properly.
