3 on tree bushings
I have a 3 on the tree and it has a lot of play in the shifter, I was looking at this faq here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=215307 and it says to inspect all 4 bushings, where are these bushings located at? Are they on those "ears"?

Re: 3 on tree bushings
Yes, There's a bushing that goes in each of those ears which are the lower part of the steering column. The shift rods go into the bushings and the rods can wear as well so check them too.
You also have two bushings on the trans levers as well that the shift rods go into, Check them for wear too.
