Screwed up wireing
Today I turned on winsheild wipers in my 82 and all my gauges went haywire, and the wipers did not work.
Got home and started to work on it to figure it out. Turned on the headlights with key off and all the gauges went wild again. Any suggestions? Where should I start? I pretty sure its a ground problem, but don't know where to start.

TRY UNPLUGGING YOUR WINDSHEILD WIPER MOTOR. THAT'S WHERE IT STARTED RIGHT. MAYBE THE MOTOR SHORTED OUT AND WITH IT BEING GROUNDED, IT'S MESSING WITH OTHER STUFF.SEE IF THAT HELPED. NEXT CRAWL UP UNDER YOUR DASH AND LOOK OVER WIRES, COULD HAVE A POWER OR GROUND THAT'S RUBBED AND ARCING WITH OTHERS OR GROUNDING OUT.ALL I CAN SAY IS TAKE YOUR TIME AND FIGURE IT OUT. YOU COULD BURN YOUR TRUCK TO THE GROUND IF YOUR NOT CAREFULL. GET A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. DAVID
