I was thinking of buying a set of these, but noticed some bad opinions on them a while back reading another post. Does anyone actually like them? They look good for the price and I do not plan on putting the wood on them so I would not worry about not being compatible. Any pictures would be appreciated.

Find a good set of originals. Not worth the money and fight of fitting the repros. You can thank me later. Trevor

I have never used them but I have never heard anything good about them. The last I heard there was only one company making them and those are the ones nobody likes.

I just don`t understand why they`d make them as "replacements" and not "reproductions" as with about all other new parts available.If you want your truck to scream "cheap repacement version" then they might not be too bad,except for fitment issues.I just figure as long as used originals can be found why buy these?For me almost like originals doesn`t cut it.It`s like JC Whitney used to sell wheelcovers that simulated factory yet were obviously not,as well as a mimmck for the brand logo.It`s like eatin` a soy burger when you want beef to me.It`s like using the generic stick on plastic trim for a two-tone instaed of the factory trim.Obviously some think it`s ok.I`d rather paint solid until I came up with the proper trim.

i also was looking at them, but have waited because of bad reviews. the problem with originals is i cant see them being very good because of age. werent they cardboard with a material cover? how would they look after 40 years of sun and weather?

The 67-72 door panels were steel with vinyl over the upgrade models.The`72s were molded plastic and without being abused last virtually forever.

I would not buy them I worked on a truck for a guy and he bought a set of black door panels for a 72 from lmc they weighed about the same as a coke can very very thin and it wouldnt suprise me if you could had them up to sunlight and seen right through them but thats just my opinion

I have them. They look ok, fit ok the first time! When I removed them the first time the moldings that hold the clips on either broke or came unglued! I wish I hadn't tossed the originals!

I was wondering the same thing. What do you use to clean them? Mine a pretty dirty and I think I might rub the texture off if I try too hard. Can you dye them?

Clean them with lacquer thinner. Scuff with a Scotch Brite pad. Shoot adhesion promoter. Then shoot either krylon fusion, or get some good stuff like SEM spray dye or actually color mixed dye. Trevor
