Starting troubles

I have had some problems getting my truck started the last two days. I turn the key and nothing, not a click, repeat this a few times and eventually it turns over. The lights and radio come on fine but the truck doesn't start. My battery connections are fine. Is it time to replace the starter? This is happening with a cold start. 71c10 350 auto.

Re: Starting troubles

could be the starter. I would check the wiring at the starter and make sure every thing is tight and not corrouded. Could also be ignition switch or other wiring. If its the starter you can tap on the starter with a hammer or metal rod or something like that, and it will free it up for a while but it will eventially lock up were that wont work either, but at least youll know its the starter.

Re: Starting troubles

Check for power on the S terminal when cranking the engine. If it lights and does not turn over replace the starter. If no power on S terminal possible safety switch or ignition switch.
