front clip swap
As you can see I have a 67 front clip on my 72. What parts would it take and how much would it cost to change back to the 72 clip? I bought this truck as is, I would really like it more if it had a 72 grille. There is to much red color in the front.
If I did the billet inserts from LMC, how would you access the hood latch? thanks |

Re: front clip swap
Wow... I want to do the opposite. Wish you were closer...
You need hood, fenders, grill & surround, radiator support. You're best bet is to find someone near you to swap with. LOTS of folks prefer the 67-68 style. oops. Forgot that you'll need the bumper too (for the turn signals...)

Re: front clip swap
Damn too bad your at the opposite end of the planet, I'd swap you my mint front 72 front clip for yours
![]() but yeah, bumper, bumper lenses, 69+ front fenders, hood, grille and rad support BUT I am using a 68 rad support slightly modified (no fab work) and it works with the 72 front clip. Also on the front fenders since the newer 69+ fenders have the opening for the side markers you would want to get a couple patches and weld them up. Great cheap place for those are below: http://infantimachine.com/products/008.htm very nice product. Cheers! |

Re: front clip swap
Oh, you can keep the bumper you have if you wish and custom mount your turn signal lights behind the 72 grille, I was going to do this to keep the smooth front bumper, up to you.

Re: front clip swap
looks bea-u-ti-ful as is to me, course I'm pro 67-68. Have you priced a 69-72 grill ? Better sit down ! Good luck however you decide to go..

Re: front clip swap
You may want to consider painting the grill white or siver I think it would be a nice contrast . But I love the 68 front end .. My 2cents .. Here's a pic of mine it's factory white.

Re: front clip swap
I was going to suggest this also. White or silver sounds good but Id try black myself.
