air bag help, truck bounces alot

So I have a 67 c10 that im currently working on, here is the set up. Its a scsb 350 and 400 trans, the front set up is 2600 series bags with ebay plates on the control arms and 3" drop spindles. Right now it has no sway bar but when test driving after the bags were put on it would bounce alot when aired out. From what I have read it should bounce hardly anything when aired down. Or do you guys think it could be the shocks that are bottomed out. Well any help would be appreciated, thanks everyone

Re: air bag help, truck bounces alot

First let me say that I am not a "bag" guy. But, if it is "aired out" wouldn't that mean that it is sitting on the bumpstops or bottomed out? If it is, there is no suspension to soak up any bumps in the road and depending on your tire's sidewall and pressure in the tire, your ride would bounce on any bump you hit...

Am I off base here?

Re: air bag help, truck bounces alot

You shouldnt be driving the truck aired all the way down. The whole trucks weight will be resting on a fully collapsed bag. You basically have no suspension when you do that. It really should only be laid out when you park it. You need to determine a ride height and use it when driving.

The shocks are in stock location, and you have a point about driving aired out, thanks for the help guys

The lower the air pressure, the less 'spring' rate the suspension will have. There will be a cross-over point where the shocks will be doing more work than merely controlling susension occilation. Once that happens, you'll really start noticing the 'bounce' (same thing if the shocks are weak @ normal ride heights).

Yeah no air= no springs it will bounce around if you want it to have a super low ride height you need a dropmember.
