Need New Tires and Wheels

Alrighty I have a 88 GMC Sierra 4X2 Pickup and I'm tired of the small tires that I have on it now. I want some nice muddy mean looking tires and Some nice looking wheels Currently, my rims oh my god, I have rusty wheels with covers over them and they're being a pain because since the rim is all rusty the wheel covers are mis-shapen and pop out at the sides. They don't fall off though they just look like crap. I've been looking at some sites and find nothing that perks my interest, the sites always want to stick me with a size tire that is stock. I need some help though to focus my look for the perfect Wheels and tires for my truck.
Any help would greatly be appreciated!
