Bench seat

Hi guys,

Maybe a stupid question but will a bench seat from a '84 truck fit in a '79 truck. If so, will it be a simple bolt out the old one, bolt in the new one swap? Or do I have to drill new holes and stuff like that.

The reason I want to swap is that I can get a very nice bench seat from an '84 and mine is very bad.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Bench seat

If you are swapping a stock bench seat, here is a tip I learned when working on my 76. If the wire under the seat which controls the seat adjuster is bent out of shape, sagging down, or hard to operate - get a metal turnbuckle with rods for an old screen door at the hardware store. It is just the right length to replace the wire and you will never have a sloppy adjuster again, plus you can adjust the turnbuckle to get just the right amount of tension you want.
