Moab here we come... Anyone Else?

Well next weekend we have decided to pack the camper up, and head to Moab in the Blazer. This will be the first real trip for the blazer to do some serious wheeling.

Anyone else gonna have a rig down there? If so we could 2 meet and eat some place...

I've never been there but I'd like to some day. Take lots of pictures & videos for those of us who can't go.

I need to find a video camera... I will have lots of pics, but video is soo much cooler. I am gonna see what I can find.

If it gets too hot down in the desert this lake is about a 20 min. drive from town and has good trout fishing.

HEHE, Thanks for the pics Drunkbus. This will be my first year with the blazer, here are a few pics from my last couple of trips with jeep. My jeep is currently getting a new cam so it will not be ready in time, otherwise I would be taking both. Enjoy the pics:

Yeah, no wheelin pics from my trip. We were in the Superduty and it was our transportation 900 miles back home plus we had my friends' 87 year old grandma sitting shotgun.

We would love to go up there sometime. But I'm in no way interested in any of the hard core off road stuff. We just like to putt around and take in the scenery. Not interested in tearing up the blazer, not to mention that's a pretty far stretch from home, so it has to stay in one piece.

Are they still having mild temps up there, or is it already hot??? That would be another issue. If my wife can't be comfortable it would be miserable for all of us

Moab is the BEST! I get to go back in September
It rained on me in 2006 the last time I was there. The rain was fun once you settle into the idea everything is going to be wet

By-the-way = Pine Trees in MOAB!!!! hahahaha were is that lake at? Doubt I will have time to see it as everyday we will be on a differnt trail but ya never know??

That's what I thought. I couldn't believe that you go from the desert and 100 degrees then drive about 20 minutes east of town climbing in elevation the whole way and everything is green and about 10-15 degrees cooler. This is Oowah Lake in the LaSal Mountains. There is even a few campsites if you wanted to stay the night. Here is a link to it and some other lakes.

A little tip if anyone does go to the lake for fishing. There were about 7 or 8 people there fishing from the bank and none of them were catching anything. My friends went out in the boat and were catching them like crazy.

Arizona is the same way. When you say Arizona, the first thing that comes to peoples minds are dry deserts. You have near sea level desert, but you can drive up 5,000 (where I'm at) and it's 15-20 degrees cooler with pines, or go up 8,000 feet and have several feet of snow

Well my trip is going to cut short. Looks like we go Firday night wheel and come home on sunday. I have a new job interview on Monday in WY. Keep your finger crossed. My dad actually grew up in Moab, someday I hope to go there with him.

Temps are supposed to be inteh low 80s. Also Moab is a blast there are many easy level trails that take you into some very great country. Also add canyon lans and arches, it is a great time.

What suspension and tire size you running? I have a set of alcan springs on mine, but I am pretty certain mine will not flex that well at all. I am going to look for a few flex spots. I am also picking up the video camera on. Hopefully I will get it all down loaded. Friday.

In thoes pics I have 35" SSRs D60 rear and D44 front. Rear springs are 5.5" Superlift Superide (softer version 7-8 leafs in the pack). Front is 4" Rancho springs that are over 15yrs old.
This year I will be attacking Moab for the first time as 1Ton K5. D60 front 14FF rear same spring packs w/36.8" Iroks (some callum 37") on re-centered H1 dubl beadlocks. Oh and I'm locked now front and rear. Before I ran Powr-loks posi front and rear. Should hear alot more Er Er er er er swamper and sand stone noises hahahaha

Cool deal. I am running 36" swampers on the 44 front 12 bolt rear. Detroit Lockers Front and geared 4.56 front and rear. I have a mildly built 350 with the SM465 Tranny and D20 Xnsfer case.
