Finished Mowing the lawn look what I found

Found this not even 1/8 of a mile from my home. After removing a few trees and displacing a very large packrat ( hate mail from tree and aminal lovers sure to follow ) and using a loader it followed me home. As you can see from the pic.s it has been lowered to the running boards. Told the wife a fresh set of tires, oil change and an air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror were ready to vist the inlaws ( note to self need larger dog house ). The best I can figure out its a 39 or 40 seeing the state is going to let me name the year its a 39 made by yellow cab and coach for GM. Now that I got it home Im looking for build Ideas.

Nice find. Looks solid too.
I'm not good at identifying the year of Pre-47s so this is a guess (I'm sure someone else will know for sure.) But, I don't think it's a 39 when I compare the grille of my 39 to yours.

I've been buying them and NOW I find out it's ok to harvest them? Maybe there is a use for them until now stupid head lights on the lawn trator. Make the dog house big enough for a beer fridge and a buddy. May as well accomondate everyone.

The only thing I've ever found mowing the lawn was a snake.

With the wider band on the top of the grill, I'd say it's a '40. Very nice find.

Re: Finished Mowing the lawn look what I found

Please Help me to understand better:

1) was the truck parked within your property lines? (1/8 mile is not that great a distance...to me anyways)

2) it was there all this time and you didn't notice it until recently?

3) What are the legal implications/legalities of this? i "discovered" a camaro on a friend's property (which he leases from someone else---it's farmland). i would love to put this car back in operation--clearly it is non-functional and i, or any sane person, can pretty much conclude after seeing it that no-one really wants it anymore.

I think it's a 40 based on the grill. Nice find! I wouldn't mind finding that mowing the lawn

Re: Finished Mowing the lawn look what I found

Great find. My find last week while grass cutting was a complete set of 15" full chevy wheel covers (DQ) that needed a home. But I had eyes on them for a few years.

Contact your local dmv because each state could be different. I did a 70 Camaro that way one time. All I had to do was send a certified letter to the owner that the car was last registered to. I had to wait a certain period of time, can't remember now how long it was. If there is no response then I went through the same process a tow yard, or garage would do for an abandoned vehicle. Filed for a lost title, and it was mine.

What a nifty deal you got! So was it on your property or a neighboring piece of land with a generous owner? I purchased my home 2 years ago this August with an 80 something C60 flat bed that I really need to get a title for some day. Good luck with your NEW project!

Re: Finished Mowing the lawn look what I found

Cool find and an interesting project. I pulled weeds for about three hours Friday and finally uncovered my truck so I could work on it. Work schedule and wind or rain every time I tried to spray Roundup in the yard last spring caused that though. One more day and I'll have the weed situation under control and be ready for the biggest bonfire in the neighborhood in a few weeks when the corn is chopped.
