New from Southeastern Missouri

I've been lurking for a while and am really impressed by the high quality of builds going on here.
I own a '99 RCSB Silverado with air suspension and many other mods. Here's a pic of the current state of my truck:

Re: New from Southeastern Missouri

Welcome from Norcal! Nice looking truck. I've been looking for some 22" wheels similar to those for my tahoe and I'm gonna drop it but I don't think it will ever be that low.

Welcome -

As they say down there: where yuuu frummmmm!?!

My dad was from Senath and my mom is from Kennett. They came to Michigan during the great automotive job migration of the 50's. I still have relatives "down home".

Re: New from Southeastern Missouri

One more funny thought:

I told my dad one time, I said: "Dad....when I think of heaven....I picture 1930's cotton farms...."

His reply: "Son - 1930's cotton farms are why I'm in Michigan!!"

LOL. I'm not that far south. I'm closer to Cape Girardeau where we don't have that big southern accent.

I still have relatives in Cape; I'll have to ask Mom their names.

I've noticed the accent varies by region - for example, in St Louis they sound just like Michigan. Conversely, folks in Indy or Dayton have more of a drawl.

Trivia question: do you say "Missour-ee" or "Missour-ah"?

The custom scene in Cape is finally starting to grow. A few small shows now and one big show in August that will draw around 250-300 vehicles.

I like your trivia question. I definitely say "Missour-ee"

How close to Cape are you? I'm in Fruitland. Kinda nice to see someone else on here from S.E. Mo. Nice truck BTW...

Thanks. I'm only about 5 miles from Fruitland. You have a sweet truck there as well. Do you ever go cruising in it or is it mainly a track dominator?

Re: New from Southeastern Missouri

Thanks for the kind words! To be honest, I street-drive it more than anything right now. I do try to hit some of the cruises, like the one in Jackson @ the courthouse and the Pizza Inn and Culvers cruises. If you see me at one, stop by and say hi. I'm usually there with a buddy of mine that runs a '62 Ranchero with fat tires and a nasty sounding Cleveland.

Re: New from Southeastern Missouri

Thanks for the shots. Beautiful truck! I love the work on the interior. Very clean, any other shots of the interior? I work at Pinegar GMC in Branson, let me know when you make the trip and we can meet up and do lunch.
