project update
I never created a build page, but I have an update and a new picture.
I was the guy that several months ago hosted a pity-party and had some board members come over and help me do some lifting. I had just gotten my burb back from the paint shop and had some medical problems and couldn't do some of the lifting myself. Anyway, I'm feeling better (still not 100%) but I am moving so I have been thrashing on my burb to get it on the road. I re-wired it, re-assembled the front end sheet metal and am putting in the interior and glass this week. Here's a picture as it drove out of my garage under it's own power, mostly complete for the first time in 6 months: I'm pretty excited, but man there is a lot of work, stuff you don't think of when you are fantisizing about working on your truck. I think I spent over an hour trying to install my new sun visors on the new sun visor rods, for example. And the repro inner fenders needed "persuasion" to fit the fenders and get the rest of the sheet metal back together... etc. more later, --steve

Re: project update
Great looking burb! Are you stuck on the 69-72 trim? I think most would agree that mix-matching trim looks a little strange. It looks to me like the paint line is high enough to put 67-68 trim on it. JMHO, and your burb looks a WHOLE LOT better than mine too!

Re: project update
good eye on the trim.
I had already bought the 72 side trim when I decided to swap front end sheet metal. I did follow the paint line from the 68 front fenders I used. I will put on the rest of the trim and drive it like that, but you are right, I may think about changing it. Unless you know these trucks, I think the only place that may look weird is the front of the front fenders where the body line is a little different. I spent the last 4 evenings wiring up an alarm and carpeting it (among other small things). This weekend I must finish the glass/windows/door locks and get the front seat back into it so I can drive it. --steve

Re: project update
If you are thinking about using the trim for a while then switching, don't drill any holes!

Re: project update
Very nice! I really like that tone of blue as well.
From the reflection in your house window I can see you got the roof paint right as well, and I like the way you blended the two years of body together with bright work.

Re: project update
Nice looking burb. How do you like your new visors and carpet? Just finished mine and I am not all that impressed with the quality of the acc carpet in mine.
