Which body mount is which?

I have a 68 cab with a 67 1/2 ton SWB frame. The body mount kit I got has one mount that is thicker than the other. Which one goes in the front and which one in the back?

Re: Which body mount is which?

I just bought 1/2 ton mounts and the ones for the cab are all the same. I do believe that the 3/4 ton mounts have thicker ones for the back of the cab, though. Maybe you have the 3/4 ton kit?

Re: Which body mount is which?

On my '67 the two cab mounts with the shorter sleeves go to the front,

Interesting. Either my kit is wrong or mclairmo's kit is wrong. mrh33916, thanks for input.

I can't remember where I got my kit from as it's been a while, but all four mounts were the same size in the kit. I had my cab on the frame for @ a year before I attempted to put the front clip back on. When I did there was a gap between the frame and the radiator support when the fenders were lined up with the doors so I knew something wasn't right as I was putting the same parts back on that came off the truck.

Luckily I still had the original cab mounts in a box. When I compared the originals to the aftermarket ones I found out that the original sleeves in the front mounts were actually shorter than the rear.

Once I made that change my alignment problems went away,

Re: Which body mount is which?

1/2 ton uses a taller mount in the back. Not sure about 3/4 ton, never had one.
