Coy Wheels suprised me today!!

Just a lit rant,

So I placed my order for some c5's 5 weeks ago and they were suposed to be at more door as promised on Wednesday the 26th. I asked several times if they were to be shipped and delivered on the 26th and they told me several times that was correct because I have a show I was supposed to attend. I call back today to confirm they were on schedule an they told me that there was no way that they were going to be shipped and it could be up to 2 more weeks before they get shipped out. I just think its crappy because they didnt have any solution to fix the problem and didnt act like they even cared. Thats BS from a consumer stand point and I coudnt believe that was the case here. I just think if someone promises something they should carry out that promise. Coy wheels went down several pegs in my book.

from what I've read that's pretty much par for the course with these yahoos ... besides, it's not their fault that it takes such long time for the boat to get here from china.

Who are you talking too? Jeff? Jeff is a good dude and will shoot straight with you. The shipments spend anywhere from 4-6 weeks on the water and that is if everything goes as planned. Then another 1-2 weeks for them to get unloaded and shipped to Coys. Unfortunately **** happens and things don't come as expected. Mine didn't. You'll get them, just be patient.

Re: Coy Wheels suprised me today!!

This is what generally gets my goat about the aftermarket. I've order a dozen or so sets of wheels over the years and it's the same.. Put all your dough down and they give you a song and dance about build times, shipping, etc... You had no problem taking my money ahead of time.

I remember I ordered an engine driven compressor once. I asked if they had it in stock and if it would ship that day or the next. They said it was in stock and it would ship the following day. I waited two weeks for deliver and nothing. So I called them and ask what the deal was. They told me that they were waiting for a pulley to come in. I was like " you told me it was in stock and ready to ship". I got "well, we thought we had everthing". So I ask them to send me a tracking number as soon as it ships.

Another two weeks go by and nothing. Call and get we are still waiting on the pulley. Wait two more weeks, still nothing. I call and leave a few messages, wait two more weeks nothing. Last message I left was if I don't hear back with a tracking number within 24 hours I'm going to file fraud charges with credit card company.

Guess what shows up at my door, shipped overnight shipped with all the parts???

Why not just tell me this in the first place if jeff was such a good dude because he was the one I was talking to and he also said he would call me back and three hours later I had to call him and guess what no answer.

Re: Coy Wheels suprised me today!!

in this day and age of no inventory in stock (read business models like kaizan, 5s, lean management, blah blah blah), no body has stock in their warehouses. matter of fact, having stock is a no-no now.

they wait until they get an order, then they call their distributors, then they call the parent company, then they put an order in to the factory (most in China now), then the chain reverses itself.

Re: Coy Wheels suprised me today!!

I actually have had a good experience with buying wheels online.

I got some boss 338 and ordered them from mrwheeldeals.com
He was a great guy and the wheels came in no time shipped as soon as he got the payment and i love them.

I aint ever dealt with trying to buy coys but just thought id share my experience.

Yep, you're 100% correct. That business mentaility looks great when they brief it on a PowerPoint slide, but if ONE link in the chain is interrupted, then the whole thing is worthless.

We went with the JIT "just-in-time" system at work and it's awful. It still relies on people, and if one of the idiots decides to go home early, take a long break, or doesn't care, it totally sucks.
