Vortec Max
I just picked up an 07 Crew Cab 2wd Max and was wondering which programmer is best? Also wanted to know what type of exhaust sounds best and if either of these mods will mess with the Active fuel managment(I know nothing about this system)?

Re: Vortec Max
Some people will say go with a custom tune. But in your application I think a handheld would be OK. I like the superchips handheld tuner myself. I have a Diablosport as of now but it will not program any of your transmission settings. As far as exhaust goes I prefer magnaflow or flowmaster. Also when changing your exhaust system you will be able to hear the drone of the cylinder deactivation going from 8 to 4 cylinders. I myself do not like this feature and both diablosport and superchips tuners allow you to deactivate the active fuel management.

Re: Vortec Max
I like Magnaflow exhaust products! and if you want a handheld I can hook you up too.
I prefer custom tunes but that is up to the customer.

Re: Vortec Max
Custom tune will always be better, and from what I've been hearing, the cost of them has come down pretty far in the past few years.

Re: Vortec Max
I currently have a diablo sport on mine and its ok but i am definitely getting a custom tune. For exhaust, my brother has a corsa sport on his Vortec Max and it sounds awesome. Its has no drone in the cab at any speed and on the outside it has a very unique sound. It's a pretty expensive exhaust but the sound is well worth it.
