Clarifiaction please about air compressors...
I have seen two different types of compressors mentioned, the york and the sanden. Is it correct to say the sanden can only be used with motors that have the ribbed type of belt and the york can be used on the old school "v" type belt....

Both compressors offer "v" belt and serpentine belt pulleys.

The york is by far the better choice, even the smallest one pushes lots of air
I'm not sure but I didn't think the sandens pushed enough air,it could probably get it done,it would just take longer, but how much longer?? T

York is the only choice that I know of. It's not about how much air they push, it's the fact that a York has a crankcase that holds oil. Most compressors rely on the refrigerant oil to lubricate them. York is the most commonly used brand of compressor that has the ability to to be used in a stand alone application.

Re: Clarifiaction please about air compressors...
I run mine off a Sanden and i don't need any oiler due to me having greased mine oiled up. I'm really happy with it takes a +/- two minutes to go from 0-200 psi. I have also had a York and they just about 20-45 seconds faster. In my situation it doesn't really make a difference.
