Re: how often do u drain tank?

as often as I remember but at least once a month ussually more..it would take alot to get to your bag outlets and since it takes up space in the tank your compressor needs to run more often

How does water taking up room in your tank make you compressors run longer?

And I drain mine whenever I can/remember. Probably about twice a month.

Re: how often do u drain tank?

let exagerate the amount..if you have 1 gallon of water in a 3 gallon tank you only have 2 gallons of compressed air not the 3 you should....the presure will be the same but there will be less volume of it...think of it as have 5 tanks you could go up and down 10 times if you have 1 tank you can get maybe 2....volume is the key thats why you seem some kids running compressed O2 in the big cylinders...VOLUME....

I see what you meant. When I read it the first time I thought you were saying that the comp would work harder filling the 3 gallon tank with 1 gallon of water in it, then the water free 3 gallon tank.
