Question Clear Lens Pics.

Hello all: Can someone please post pics. of trucks with clear lenses on them (sidemarkers and taillight) and I've been looking everywhere on the net for clear "Standard Side Markers", is there even such a thing? I just thought it look cool with amber/red bulbs for the side markers in standard. Thanks very much, Doug

Thanks Dano, I just bought a brand new Front grill (inner and outer) and new clear park lenses also, it got me to thinking I should just keep going around the whole truck with this clear lens idea! I polished up the park lamp housings with a metal polish before I put the lenses on (looks not bad) but I was thinking about getting my rear housings chrome plated first and then installing the bulbs and clear lenses, I think they will be much brighter and give the whole unit more clarity) so to speak. What do you think Dano? Later Doug

Have you ever used "Chrome" spray paint Dano? On second thought I think I might try that for starters on all of my light housings.

As far as the tailight chrome, I just bought new chrome bezels from GMC Pauls for only $27 delivered!!
I like the clear lenses too, but am not sure about taillights??

How much did you pay for the inner and outer grills?

I am going to have to replace mine soon, just got another brand new paint job!!

Thats good about the rear bezels, man our trucks are very simular, can you post some pics of your truck Dano is yours a shorty ? Id like to keep in contact with you, do you have rear leafs? I bought my grills from Chevy Duty (Kentucky), the outer has the "Chevrolet" stamped into it (like the original) and it came with the letters painted (cool) and the quality was nice, it came to $475.00 U.S. plus shipping. I had major problems with U.P.S. and had to reorder it 3 times (kept receiving it bent) however both companies were really good about it. I still have to order the black plastic bumper type hood stops that bolt through the top of it (as it did not come with it). Later Doug

69 Short Fleet-

That chrome spray paint that you are asking about in my opinion is awful. A buddy and I tried it on his old stang and it sure as heck didn't look like chrome, kind of a nice silver though. Guess it looked real good on his ride being a f**d but I'd never put it on a chevy piece that I wanted to look like actual chrome. You could always pick up a can at a local parts store if you really wanted too for a few bucks and try it on some misc. pieces.
Just my couple of cents.

Thanks Crank!!, that help make my mind up, I'm going for it, I just bought a can of VHT chrome spraypaint and I'm going to paint the insides of the housings (behind the lens) first. I'll try and get pics posted later on (got about a gazillion things on the go right now), later, Doug

Thanks for the input GreenmystChevy, I'll try the paint first and if it looks crappy I think I'll send them out to be plated, I was looking at a ricerocket at an intersection today with some aftermarket ones and the "chrome" behind the lens looks pretty darn nice!!! Later Doug

It's all so clear now, chrome paint INSIDE of the lenses, not on bare metal. Now that just might work. I'll go get some sleep now :p

69 short fleet. Here are a couple of last years photos. I just got it repainted this weekend the same color. We painted and clear coated the entire bed and under the hood. When I rolled it out into the sun, we saw that the Orange on the bed was slightly different, so we just prepped and reshot the whole truck!!
I havent installed my new bezels, but now I think before I do I will paint the insides of the tailights silver or chrome to make them brighter!!

Good Idea..

Might buy a digital camera at end of month so no pics yet. Good to see more Kelowna guys on this board!! Dano, your truck is very nice indeed!!! did you plate your tailgate handle? Also has anyone ever seen "Clear Standard Side Markers"??? I know they come in Deluxe, but maybe there insn't such a thing available, Thanks for all your input, Regards Doug

Correction here almost ever state clear lenses are legal. The light emitted must be red. Only real way to do it with clear lenses is LEDs.

I'm sorry guys but those clear tail lights don't look right to me. It just reminds me of the fast and the furious. I'm not making fun of anyone. Just my opinion
