Re: dead truck?
Where do you have your radio getting its power from? Is it stock or have you wired it in somewhere else? Shouldnt be too hard tracing back a common point for the starter and radio.

Re: dead truck?
This happened to me in December. The truck shorted out and the fusible link was blown. the truck did not have any dash light and the ignition wouldn't even try to start. Everything wired always hot worked though. The fusible link is the black piece on the red wire leading to the rubber piece mounted on the firewall to the left of the master cylinder. They can be bought at auto zone don't by and inline fuse they blow to easily.(60 amp fusible link should do)

Re: dead truck?
if you have a good light tester check the fuse link on both sides more and likely thats your problem

Re: dead truck?
There is a fusable limk near the brake booster that can fry. If it is gone, then the truck will not start or run. I carry a couple spares that I cut off of old trucks in the junkyard with me.

Re: dead truck?
auto-zone, OReilly, advanced. just ask for a 60 amp fusible link. DO NOT buy an inline fuse. the fuses will blow and you will be left stranded.

Re: dead truck?
I think it aids insulation and it was a place a person could find it. As much as i hate to say it i love the ford solenoid position.
