Drive line question
My 55 3200 came with a two piece drive line and a 4spd manual, now that I have swapped in a TH350 would it be better to have the original two piece shaft shortened or find a new one piece drive line?

I had a 57 3200 that came with a one piece but it had a std 3 speed. The TH350 is longer so if you wanted you could run a once piece as long as its not over 50-52 inches. It may be cheaper to shorten you original one.

I'd go with the one piece, less joints to wear out. Before the current set up I had a 4 speed 1-ton rear end with center joint too. They originally came on the longer wheel base big trucks.

If your shaft isn't too long and the angles too sharp you could go with a one piece and get rid of the carrier bushing.
Take your measurements and talk to a local driveshaft shop. They can usually build a new shaft that is straighter and balanced better than the factory shaft.
