Re: What did you get done 5/23/10 B&D last rodeo edition

went to the skydiving place to wait 4 hours and then go home without jumping becuase it was to windy... aaawweeessooome! with 2 solo jumps under my belt, and the winds gusting up to 25mph, they were like wait for it.... wait for it... 4 hrs later I'm on my way to lunch.. next weekend though.
on a truck note, I did wrap my other a-pillar, both smaller trim pieces over the door in suade... all i have left is 1 c-pillar and im done.

Re: What did you get done 5/23/10 B&D last rodeo edition

pulled the old motor out of the 79 and seperated the 350 trans from the engine to get ready to rebuild it for the 83. Hopefully rebuild that next weekend and then get the injected 350 and the 350trans married together painted and close to being dropped in. Also looked into phantom grilles and new front fenders. Oh and went to a joke of a car show saturday morning where a rusted out 60's mustang beat a bunch of nice restores including a mint Charger, mint 50's truck and a nice 65 impala. Show was at a nursing home and the lady that won worked at the nursing home and the only people to win lived in the town or one town over.........hmmmm interesting.

Re: What did you get done 5/23/10 B&D last rodeo edition

Played with my Chevelle this weekend. I've been wanting to drop it a little and plan on installing drop spindles for the front and lowering springs in the rear. Since I have some spare springs, I whacked 2 coils off the front springs and one in the rear. The cutting wheel gave me a 3" drop in the front and an inch and a half in the rear. I like the stance so I guess I'll get online and order some parts.

Re: What did you get done 5/23/10 B&D last rodeo edition

Rebuilt the front end on my 87. Had the rotors turned, new calipers, new pads, new outer tie rods, new upper and lower ball joints. Seems it was about 30 trips to O'reillys. I swear I am about to stop using them despite them being next door to my shop. Had a misboxed tie rod (as a left in a right box), misboxed ball joint (was a cheap house brand in a moog box), one of the reman calipers had the bleeder cross threaded (could not even tap it out). Just seemed every time we turned around something was wrong or a new and broken thing. Advanced Auto here we come.

Started stripping down the 'burban I bought for parts. Me and my 7 year old just about got the stuff from the interior I want, just got both front doors to strip down now.

I should have gotten some photos of my 7 year old boy, he used the cordless impact a few times, but it was too heavy. He then wanted to use the 3/8 air impact since it was lighter, used it a few times and all of a sudden "his turn was over, it was my turn", lol. He spent the rest of the time in the bed of my truck removing screws that hold the bedliner in. I am anxious to see what it looks like underneath honestly. The liner has been in the truck since it was new. Under the tailgate protector looks pretty good, only scratches are from little things that worked their way underneath it.
