Bed clearance
I don't have a bed right now (the one that was on the truck when I got it wasn't worth trying to restore so I scrapped it a while back.)
I have the major components hung now and am doing all of the adjusting and checking before ratcheting everything down. I have already discovered that I will need to make some clearance room in the shock c.member to clear a reienforcing web on the top of the rear end and it seems to me that the top of the rear end will etend a fair amout above the frame when it is aired out. How much (if any) clearance is there between the frame and the bed floor in this area?

Re: Bed clearance
Do you plan on running bump-stops? If so, the rear will prob touch the bed floor @ the same time the bump-stops hit using standard height stops. If you opt for the very short/pancake style stops, you'll hit if you don't make clearance. The pumpkin can protrude about an inch above the floor.
You could always cut a hole for clearance & install a shallow 'cover'.

Re: Bed clearance
I do need to add some bump-stops here.
I plan on running a wood bed. I haven't seen wood beds with modded floors but I guess I can figure something out if it comes to that. I rolled a tire up from the shed to see where I was at. I think it's going to end up just about where I wanted it.

Re: Bed clearance
If your going to have to build a bed from pieces, I would just raise the entire bed floor. It won't be as deep, but better than a hump in my mind.

Re: Bed clearance
It's a good point... I have no plans to haul things (well, nothing big and heavy anyway) in any case, so it won't hurt to raise the floor a few inches.

Re: Bed clearance
hey Keith I think your going to be very close you have the same set up I have..if you put something across the frame as long as the top of the pumpkin is less than 1 1/2" above the frame your good...
