engine mounts?

i curenntly have the 6 cyl mounts in my truck and i was rummaging through some of my dads junk and ran across these mounts.

i know that they are v8 mounts but was wondering if they might be big block mounts,as my brother had a big block truck that he totalled a few years back.
my dad is moving and he had these laying in the junk pile to throw away. any of you guys know if these are bb mounts?

btw i picked up a set of door glass and vent windows out of the trash before he hauled em away. so i got spares now

I just took mine off last night and they are small block mounts. It looks like yours are the same thing.

They look like sb stands, but the center hole for the eng mount bolt has been drilled oversized(thats not a problem),I do that to mine to make them easier to assemble. crazyL

cool thanks,i really had no idea if they were sb or bb. but the ones on my truck sure are i6 mounts, they look diffrent.

if i put these in my truck will i have to change the half shaft to a longer one? also can i use these with a bb? i am really thinking of going to the 73 and up style mounts when i go bb due to better clearance.

btw stokes thats an awasome looking frame.

Thanks,

I just started tearing into my truck a little over a month ago and this photo shows its current state. Pretty much just the suspension left to remove.

the 73 up mounts would probably work better with a BB. I havent tryed it, but from what I hear the BB will mount on the sb stands/mounts, but you will need to notch the stands for header clearance. The drive shaft lenght will be a different lenght from sb to I 6 position(3 1/2"). the bb mounts somewhere between the I6 & the sb for position( i havent done 1 , so i cant say how much diff).....good luck, crazyL

well that explains why my old 70 had the mounts welded between the 2 locations. it was a bb truck and someone put a sb 400 in it,i figure the 402 went bad at one point and they figured a 400 was a 400 according to the badges on the side of the truck, thats one truck i keep kicking myself for gettin rid of.
