Power brakes to manual

I have a 67 with four wheel power disc. I dont think the motor i want to install makes enough vacuum. Its a 350 with 10.25 compression, performer rpm heads, and a comp cams extreme energy cam-xe284h-10, 284/296duration with 240/246 at .050 . The motor in it now is identical but has a 280 magnum cam with 230/230 at .050 and it works fine but its worn out.what do i need to convert to manual disc brakes. I have an electric vacuum pump but i dont want to rely on it for brakes on my dd.

See how much engine vacuum you have at idle. You really need 17" + to make a vacuum system work. Here are the variables:

Booster size, I hate an 8" booster no matter what engine vacuum you have 9" or bigger is better

The vacuum pumps work, even for DD's, but they are noisy

do your homework, get as much engine vacuum as you can, biggest booster, and make sure that the ratio between the pedal fulcrum and the booster rod is correct

Go to a junkyard and grab the hydroboost setup from a 80's-90's 3/4 or 1 ton with the 6.5 diesel. This system uses the power steering pump for hydraulic pressure to make braking effortless- with no need for any engine vacuum at all. Given the fact that you are dumping a fairly warm motor in your ride, I would be hesitant to go backwards and swap in a less effective braking system.

I just swapped to a big block and went to manual brakes as well. All you need is the brake pedal pushrod for manual brakes to do the swap. Stops great and it got rid of all that exta crap on the firewall.

I do like the clean look of no PB, but I upgraded to power brakes
