67 4:11 gear change

would like to change my posi 4:11's to 3:08' posi in my 67 c-10 327 1/2 ton. it was suggested that 75 & 76 complete carrier will interchange as this was the only used lower gear that would work other than spending a large sum to purchase the ring and pinion and having it done, not in the budget, would anyone have any insight into how i can change the 4:11's, ty in advance.

What it really comes down to is...."You can't". There is no "cheap way" to change gears. The only feasible way is to swap the entire housing from another truck, with the gear ratio you want. This is not necessarily "easy" either, finding one is the hard part.

Installing gears is one of those things that is far more involed than it "looks". It requires precision, experience, and some special tools. It is even worse with used gears, most professionals will not even do it.
