Fixing cracked dually fenders?

I have looked around and haven't been able to locate anything on fixing dually fenders. I'm buying a pretty nice K30 crew cab for $1500 and really all it neads that's major is 2 cracks in the L dually fender. Anyone know where to point me?

A tired warrior of the 1980s in a world of low profile tires, front wheel drive, and plastic bumpers, where people stay in their houses until snowplows move the offending substance from their paths, too helpless to travel without AAA and chains and salt, clearing their windows with longhandled brushes while gently stepping around in the snow trying to stay nice and dry.

Re: Fixing cracked dually fenders?

I took a pair to a local body shop that does a lot of fiberglass work. They patched the broken spots and ran a double bead all the way around the fender opening and charged me $100 per fender. I'm gonna put a thick coating of bed liner on the inside of 'em to stop the rock dings and stars that inevitably show up.

Re: Fixing cracked dually fenders?

not a hard fix. you need to grind a groove along the crack, basically just give the crack some depth. go to your local autoparts place and pick up some fiberglass material and resin and follow the directions. maybe try some on a spare piece to learn a little. the fiberglass sets in about 15 min. I would place the mat on the underside of the fender and pour resin into the crack on top. finish with bondo. good luck

Re: Fixing cracked dually fenders?

That's almost exactly what mine looks like, except it hasn't been attempted yet. I will do it myself as I am a poor deputy sheriff in the county and finding the money to pay someone else is hard for us with a wife and 3 todlers (the joys of my life) Thanks for all the replys so far. I'll try to post some pics soon.

Its probably easier and cheaper to find a complete bed on CL, I've got 3 infants car seats so I know the feeling.
