UCA, New ball joints

For those of you who have installed new upper ball joints in the stock UCA, have you had to enlarge the hole for the rubber boot and joint to fit? I noticed as I attempted to install the new moog ball joint (PN K6124 in 71 C10) it wont fit unless I hog out the hole about 1/16 of an inch anyone else experienced this ?

didn't have trouble in the past with stock uca either, Steve.

however, I bought a set of urethanes that were too small and had to darn near shoehorn them on!

I looked at it that way also and when assembled that way it fits, I was under the impression the boot needed to go on the joint so the grease didnt squirt out as there is no gasket, do the 4 bolts tighten it sufficiently as to eliminate that? Hey preciate all the input!

Re: UCA, New ball joints

Thats how I insalled them on my 70 boot bolted from the bottom side. I have greased them and they seem to be fine, with no leakage.
