Need Help with Front Bearings
I am currently redoing my front suspension and need to know which inner bearings to get. LMC Truck has two different options, one for 11" rear drums and one for 11-5/32" rear drums. My problem is I can't get to the rear to measure so I was hoping someone could help. I figured the difference in the rear drums dealt with whether you had 1" or 1.25" rotors up front, or the standard and heavy brake setup. My truck has the 1" width front rotors making it the standard or some people call it the light duty brakes. I would assume this means that I have the smaller 11" rear drums also. Just checking to make sure before I order the bearings. By the way my truck is an '82 c10. Thank you for the help.

Re: Need Help with Front Bearings
I would bet that if you were to remove an inner wheel bearing, and go to the closest parts store, they could identify it for you. On most ALL bearings there will be a part number. IE:
LM49178 ? This will be the bearing itself, and there will be another number that is similar on the outer bearing race. MOST front bearings are sold in SETS A-2, A-5 etc. With the above information, and a good parts person, I would bet it will take you longer to drive to the parts store, and repack them, than it did anything else. This is a couple hour adventure tops! |

Re: Need Help with Front Bearings
by oreilly's website, light duty (1" rotors) for an 82 should be a6. i just put 73 rotors on mine (the hd 1.25") and they were a5
best thing is to take your rotor and spindle up there if you can, so they can grab a bunch and keep trying them out. but that should be what you need.
