any one know about this part of the gauge cluster?

I bought a tach and a vac gauge but my stock cluster didnt have one so i was wondering if anyone know if there was a catalog that sells the part in the pic below. As a last resort i can cut the metal but you do see it so i really do not want to because it would not be as good looking as original. Also my tach didnt come with any wiring, i was wondering if there was a place that sells just the wiring for the tach and the vac gauge. any help would be great. thanks in advance!!

Have you tried any of the board vendors? Parts are available.

Re: any one know about this part of the gauge cluster?

Search your local craigslist for gauge clusters. Do a search on this site for gauge clusters, lots of step by step pics of people putting aftermarket gauges in their original dash bezels. As far as the wiring goes, again search cl and ebay, maybe call the manufacturer of your gauges and see if they sell just the harness. Hope this helps.

Re: any one know about this part of the gauge cluster?

you are better off to find a complete cluster or buy a tac/vac conversion kit from one of our board vendors... You could also post a WTB (want to buy) ad in the classifieds after you become a paid subscriber.

You have to buy the lens, front and back tins... The wiring is pretty simplie but vendors have a small kit for that as well... I have a speedminder setup to add to this one now..

Re: any one know about this part of the gauge cluster?

i bought a used cluster with tach and used just the tach, tach harness and circuit board (wires route around back of tach instead of straight accross but otherwise the same) and used the lens and all the tins that came with my vac gage add on kit. only piece i reused from my 72 burb besides the other 5 gauges was the face piece because the used donor cluster was for a 67/68 with manual choke and i wanted to keep some original parts and mine was in better shape anyway.

you can get a restored cluster w/ tach and vac for around 500 bucks. i found the truck shop in cali has good prices and carries these parts and they had the best price on the vac add on kit vs other vendors.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=405153....the tins you need are for sale in the parts section right now.....
