What did you get done 5/30/10

Cleaned out the shop Friday.

Saturday made some brackets for the fuel lines turn out pretty cool
install the starter and wired it for start up let the batterys charge overnight

Sunday first thing was connect batterys and try to get it to turn over
the starter only turn but woundt engage the drive and then it woundt work at all after a couple trys. took the starter off removed and dismatled the Solenoid turns out the wire for the S terminal was broken, the copper on the terminal for the starter motor was burn off. got it fixed put it togther
tryed the starter in the Vise worked great. put it back on the engine.
reconected batterys and tryed and the starter worked but woundt stop so it just kept cranking thank god the Air wasent bleed and it didnt manage to prime the Injection pump. got a wrench and managed to disconect the battery terminals that was scary

that was enough for one day lol

Completely disasembled the upper and lower control arms (pain in the ass). Got the frame powerwashed and set on the trailer. It is going to the sandblaster on Tues.

Re: What did you get done 5/30/10

I finally rebuilt my throttle body. She runs like a champ now. I also finished the LEDs in my guage cluster. The blue looks a bit purple so I'm ordering new brighter ones. Next plan is to flush the coolant system and install new radiator hoses and a thermostat.

Re: What did you get done 5/30/10

I have my 87 V2500 front end parts painted, completed the sway bar and stearing box today. Started cleaning the frame yesterday, what a mess. My goal is to get the front end done so I can use the truck until I get time to to the rear frame and body,

Re: What did you get done 5/30/10

Nothing truck related, raining here since Friday. I did pick up an old 82 gt cruiser and an 82 or 83 hutch pro racer...with some parts...The gt and parts sold before I went to bed friday night, lol. The hutch is for my son. Sending it off for powdercoat when I feel like hunting down a box to ship it off.

Re: What did you get done 5/30/10

I ate well all weekend . I also went to Austin to pick up a 1965 Malibu SS project . I came home with a truck full of boxes and a project on the trailer . I have always loved the 64-65 cars and recently started hunting one with the emphasis on a 65 SS . The one I found is a factory 4 speed car and factory tilt column. Both are nice options.. We also spent some time at Lowe's getting paint and supplies for the shutters, our goat shed , etc. We did some cleaning and painting today . I am going to start clearing out some things to make room for the Malibu.

Got my new engine prepped and painted with a POR-15 engine kit. First time using it, and it is interesting.

Re: What did you get done 5/30/10

nothing truck related because I didn't get to the lumber yard in time to pick up the wood to fabricate my center console. Hauling the truck to my dad's house tomorrow possibly, to get the truck ready for the injected 350 (pulling the old motor, cleaning the engine bay, painting the engine bay, and then running the new wiring) can't wait to get the thing running so I can get started on some summer projects that require a truck.
