Yes customer was building a high dollar truck and wanted a better fit than Repro's can give. He was ok with the fenders mostly but the cowl hoods for these years don't always line up the the fender crown. He and I agreed to use stock fenders and a stock hood and we refunded his money. The fenders ar ok for daily drivers just not show trucks with perfect gaps. Here is a pic of the problem but the problem is the hood

Mike i would be interested in these...How was the fit on the grill and and does the curves in the grill match the fenders. I have a set right now and they suck in that area but mtach the hood perpect. I will be headed home on the 9th come back from Freeport texas to louisiana maybe we could work something out...

Thanks, Eric

I just left Freeport The fit on the grill support was off some. Like it was racked some and pushed the gap at the hood out some. the door gaps were fine. They would be ok for a daily driver or would require some reshaping at the grille joint to get it acceptable for a show truck

We are old school
Its not the body man. This was a VERY experienced body guy. I started doing Body work in 1969 with my cousin who started a successful shop with 26 employees back in 1960. this one is not as old as me but he is a good one. The problem was the fact that the hoods for the 67's do not fit very good.in the front. We sell these and don't like not having customers that are unhappy. He could have fixed it but that adds cost onto the project. He was very capable of fixing the hood. The customer just did not want to pay any more money to fix it. Labor is high. We install parts and do body work for a living and we don't like it either. I am just going to give the honest skinny on aftermarket parts. We have the same problems that our customers do. Show me a perfect part that fits 100% correct every time We have had these hoods come in with even the inner structure not attached completley to the outer skin so it moves on the inner when you open them. They need better QA in taiwan. Its not just our parts of course its everyones as you know we all buy from the same places. The fenders all have issues to

Re: fenders repop new but installed

The factory hoods have to be tweaked to be correct. Sounds like to me if the people don't have the skills or money they should not be trying to build a show truck. These trucks were built from the factory to haul campers, cattle, and fertlize To build a show truck is the true metal masters skills and the owners billfold!

You know as well as I do that the majority of people do not have the $$ to build a show truck. They are doing the best they can in this world to stay a float and everyone is on a budget. They want the best they can get at the best price. All cars and trucks were built like crap back then and it is a challenge to get parts to fit correct on any car or truck. Its not for me to tell them they should not build a truck cause they can't afford it. A customer asks us how they fit, we give them an honest answer. Every body part we sell for these trucks are TriPlus. They are the best fitting parts out there IMO.
However there is room for improvement.

Re: fenders repop new but installed

Mike ,First I want to thank you for the best customer service I have ever had with any business !!!! Mike it great to deal with and puts his customer first!!!

Tim Christian- I think before you start making accusations about someones ablitity as a bodyman you should know a little about them first!!! I dont think you have the right to tell me I shouldnt be able to build the truck that I want because YOU dont think I have the ability to do it . Who made you the judge and jury ?

Mike is just trying to let the person that buys the fenders know how the fit was on them and making someone a really good price on them .
