just picked up a 85 sierra. long story....
anyway, aside from other problems, i need tires.
i have stock ralleys on truck.
what i want....is a fatter/wider, widest tire i can run in rear. with a nice profile.
and a not so wide, yet not so slim front tire.
i figure i need to spend money on tires, so id like to put on a nice set up rather then the same front and back.

please help me out. tires are needed asap.
pics and sizes would be great. sooner the better.
i need tires!!

These are BFG Front 255/60 Rear 275/60/15. But now I have BFG 255/60/15's all around with 1.25" spacers in rear.

At any rate, here's 8 inch truck ralley's with a P235/75R15 blackwall:

I know you can do an LR60-15 (or modern equivalent) with no trouble.

Thanks guys, but it looks even better with 255/60/15's and the rear spacers and 1" lowering blocks (not pictured). I was kinda debating 245/60/15's even. But I like it best with the 22's...

anyone know whats the widest size tire i can run in rear?

im gonna look into the 275/60 rear and 255/60 front.
truck is stock but i will be looking for a good 4/6 drop kit. so many out there, so ill be looking around a bit.

ideally, id like to put the widest tire in rear that i can. unless i am lucky enuff to find 2 10s for the rear before i purchase tires for truck

From trial and error, I think I will be getting another set of drop spindles (CPP), because from I read:

1. They are future upgradeable ie. big brake kits etc.
2. They move the front track width in about 1 1/8" per side.

Everything else I've had has been Western Chassis.

this is with P275/60R15 all around.

How much side wall do you want? If you want a tall tire put a 215 or 225/70 in the front and a 255/70 or bigger in the rear.

to be honest, im not sure. i know i want to keep the ralleys. and id like a good looking set of meat on them. right now i know i have the same all round. trucks not here so i cant tell you size.

id like a fat tire out back. example. wheel is 8inch. if i could put 10 in wide tire on that wheel, thats what id like to do.

only out back tho. id like to have a thicker wider tire out back and bit slimmer up front.

275/60R15 is gonna be about 28" tall. 275/50R15 is only 26" tall but wider. 295/50R15 will squeeze on an 8" rim and is wideee but better fitted on a 10" rim. maybe 26"+ on a 10" rim maybe a lil taller on an 8" rim but lots a side wall buldge.

im gonna try to fit a 295/65R15 MT drag radial on a 10" rim on the back of my 81 stepside. that tire is around 30" tall 10" tread and 12.5" section. hopefully with a 4/6 drop

Those are all 8's. I wish I had pics of it with the 255/60/15's all around and the 1.25" spacers in the rear, it looked pretty good.

Nice Truck!!! did you add the tailgate-band and trim behind the cab.. if your truck didn't came with it from the factory? I'm lookin to do the same thing... curious about how to add it.. drill holes and such for the clips... and where did you get the trim peices and such? thanks in advance!!

Thanks!! All of my trim is from LMC. Just replaced the stock trim, but without the chevy emblems.
