Re: Boise Idaho Craig's list Blazer

Almost makes me think the ad is posted by a scammer - no Blazer owner would say Bronco in a listing.

If it is is real listing, it's the best picture documented list I've seen!

Good looking rig. The add just appears as if the seller may not be the builder.

Re: Boise Idaho Craig's list Blazer

There's quite a few warning signs in those pictures...especially for a Blazer where "no expense was spared".

I wouldn't pay $15k. I don't like undoing p.o.'s "fixes".

Re: Boise Idaho Craig's list Blazer

That wasn't a frame off, the frame was sprayed from underneath. You can see the spots missed with the spray can. Window frame shows some hidden spots with the paint.

Not for 15k....

Re: Boise Idaho Craig's list Blazer

imo...its pretty nice but i really hate the diamond plate on the lower body, they can hid lots of bad stuff...and lots of oddball stuff done to the rest of the blazer...

Re: Boise Idaho Craig's list Blazer

This posting inspired me to look for Diamond Plate and I just ordered from diamondlifegear. Got 7 pieces of 2'x4' for $140+$28 shipping=$168. 5 should do inside of bed sides and both doors with pieces left over plus 2 for nephews Jeep(Chevy 350 powered). 2x4 will have a seam but not willing to pay truck freight, hope to match then up and/or get creative.

5 pieces would be $120, Doors and bedside diamond plated for less than chrome door panels.

Those 2x4 are on special, check also Metal by the piece- aluminum colors, and Door Hardware kickplate (6"x up to 36" pieces), both also on special. Happy hunting and forming!

Re: Boise Idaho Craig's list Blazer

Looks to be about 7-8K over priced to me.. Sure the body is fairly nice, and the person who built it like dimond plate. But there is no razzoo anything on that blazer,, and quality is shown of the worker with the doghouse cover that has a plate on it. Thats just sloppy to me. Weld in a plate flush and grind it down or find a doghouse cover that only has the 4x4 hole. Not that hard.

Ok not sure what you mean, 2foot by 4 foot? is that goin to fit one side in the rear? Seems like its going to be short? I havent measured it yet but hey let me know how it works.

As far as being 7-8k high, not around here its not. I paid 5 for mine and its not quite that clean. I would not even sell mine but if i did i would take nothing less than 8k

I know I am a newbie and not a motorhead but what are razzoo and doghouse cover.. It isn't important to me that they did it wrong, only that I can identify it and not make the same mistake. Which number of picture counting down, Private message OK as to not clog the thread. Thanks

Re: Boise Idaho Craig's list Blazer

I went back and looked at this again, as stated there has been no recent ground up on this truck, at least not within 20 years. paint may be newer though. below is my internet assesment / apraisal

multiple oil leaks
wires hanging underneath
shell is not flush in corner
tranny cover missing
missing antena
windshield gasket is for trim with no trim
front brake line routing is hack work
grill is cracked
no hood to cowl gasket
holes in firewall
front of rear fenderwell cut for tire clearance
tires to big for lift (opinion)
patch on center hump looks bad from old stick shift (truck was a stick)
hood is un-even
front seat belt mounts?
rear axle has sway bar mount but no sway bar
diamond plate, whats it hiding? (its about $90 for a 4 x 10 sheet of the thin stuff looks like 2 sheets worth)

I value it around $6500 - $6800 max if one of my friends was buying it

Matt

You forgot the seats are worn out. Not to mention,, How is that rear seat accualy held down securely??

I would agree with you. (Maybe not the tire part) but,,,There are alot of problems with this ad. you found more issues than I did. Plus,,

the electrical tape on the battery terminal wires
the over spray
rattle canned under carriage.

Either they are scammers. or they are just goofing off and aren't serious. I would bet both. on second look with myself, I would be hard pressed to put out $6500. But it would be a maybe.

just so ya know what I was meaning there Mombo. Razzoo means as in something neat or realy cool that you don't see much of if any or even something that is hella expencive to do. in other words different than the typical. There are some things on there that are nice But not hard or all that expencive to do.. And Doghouse cover is just another word for the tranny cover in the cab. Hang out, read alot and don't be afraid to ask questions. you will learn alot on forums like this. My buddy in the USAF learned alot from forums and finding me in the real world to show him more of the hands on stuff. He has quite the collection of nice rides now and alot of the work he did himself. So it is all possible...
