Re: after market temp guage

i've always been told DO NOT use teflon tape. the block and threads acts as a ground for the gauge. you'll get inaccurate readings

Re: after market temp guage

I've always used teflon tape on my sending units. Never had a single problem with inaccurate readings. It doesn't seal the threads up enough to not make at least some contact for a ground.

Re: after market temp guage

According to the electric Autometer SportComp temp gauge (I just bought) instructions, "use teflon sealing compound on pipe threads".
