after market temp guage
i just bought one the directions are a little vague do i need to put some kinda tread sealer or teflon tape on the threads for it or just put it on thanx

i've always been told DO NOT use teflon tape. the block and threads acts as a ground for the gauge. you'll get inaccurate readings

I've always used teflon tape on my sending units. Never had a single problem with inaccurate readings. It doesn't seal the threads up enough to not make at least some contact for a ground.

According to the electric Autometer SportComp temp gauge (I just bought) instructions, "use teflon sealing compound on pipe threads".

liquid teflon is what i think ive heard to use.
