Radiators

How do I tell how many row radiator I have. Finshing up the upgrades to the 454 and I took out the radiator and had planned to replace it with one I had seen on craigslist. That one sold so I am looking at my old one to see if I am going to use it. I will have 2 pusher fans on the front of it.

Any help on whether it is a 2,3or 4 row would be appreciate or info on how to to tell.

Also I found 2 spots it had been repaired do they look correctly done? When I pulled it out there were no leaks.

Re: Radiators

looks lie a 4 core..bring it to a rad shop have them boil it and check for leaks..you'll be in it about the same as a used one...then get a shroud and put a reg clutch fan...

Re: Radiators

Open up the rad cap and count the rows (the number of rectangular tubes).
I just got a 3 row rad for 20 bucks. Working like a charm.

Re: Radiators

It does look like a 4 row from the outside, but if you remove the radiator cap and look inside you can see for sure. As you look down inside the tank there will be row upon row of tubes running from one side to the other side, count the rows front to rear (air flow direction) and see how many you have.
If you are unsure of the condition of the radiator do not even waste your time trying to install it and then find out later that you have a problem. go ahead and take it to a radiator shop and have it checked.
hope that helps
on another note in the picture you have a ft bumper on the ground is it any good?

Re: Radiators

Thanks for the input guys, it is aweful thick will count the tomorrow. when I pulled it out it was not leaking and there was no seepage either just a little dirty from sitting in the field. I am going with electric fans because he had 2 in the cab so I am gonna use them i have the factory stuff but always wanted to electric fans I just don't know how to set them up to come on automatically but I will cross that bridge later.

Yeah that is a front bumper it is fine structurally but it is pretty beat up it was white then painted black couple of dents and dings. Not sure what I am gonna do with it
