Seats Question - need quick answer if possible

I have a 1970 GMC Shortbed. I am 6'3" and my son is 6'6".
I am going to a local junk yard tomorrow to find seats for my truck. I want them to look nice but I also want to gain as much room in the cab as I possibly can. I see some from later model trucks that seem to look good but wonder if they take up too much room?

Any quick suggestions would really be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dusty

To me the best seat replacement is a bench from the early 90's GM C1500s.

Its going to be a challenge for you to find comfort and for them to look nice too. My Dodge seats look great in my truck but i dont know if they would be practical for someone that tall. You may want to look for some regular low back car seats and mod them in.

Good luck

Re: Seats Question - need quick answer if possible

I'm 6'3" and I put a `97 bench with the fold down center arm rest/storage compartment and has air adjustable lumbar. I think it is about 1" higher than stock. I put the gas tank between the frame rails and it is more comfortable than the stock seat. These trucks have a shorter cab than the newer trucks so leg room even stock is not as good.
