My lower radiator hose is not getting as hot as the top hose.Heater works great(just installed a new heater core),truck is not overheating everything is working fine just wondering if my rad is partially plugged or if this is normal.I am running a 2 core rad ,350 motor and turbo 350 tranny.

Re: Cold Lower Rad Hose?

The lower hose is the "cold" water going to the engine, after it's been through the radiator.
The upper hose is the "hot" water going to the radiator; it hasn't been cooled yet. So it's naturally going to be hotter.
So it sounds pretty normal to me.

Re: Cold Lower Rad Hose?

Like I said everything seems to be working fine I just did not think there would be such a difference in temperature between the upper and lower rad hose. Thanks for the feed back,Wayne
