67 4x4 vin # question
i'm looking at a truck on ebay and i'm curious as to whether it's a true 4x4 or if it's a 67 truck on a later model frame.
i called the tag office and the lady told me that 4x4s had a K in the vin #. can anybody decode it for me? thanks CS1475102222 |

Re: 67 4x4 vin # question
Check out this: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/Chevyear.html
From what I can see off the bat is this: C = 4x2 S = Six cyl 1 = 1/2 ton 4 = PU 7 = 1967 I may be wrong, but check out that link above. The lady at the tag office is correct. C = 4x2 K = 4x4 Though on the newer models, GM combined the two suffix's. "CK series" Typically on the older truck VIN's (67/68), the last six digits are your serial number. Check on the frame next to the steering gear, and you should see those same 6 digits stamped in the frame. Others will chime in and correct me, and or give more advice on your Q.

Re: 67 4x4 vin # question
My 67' K10 Short bed has a K instead of a C, that is on the title, VIN plate, old registration, and the SPIS...hth
