Re: is this a rare truck???

i thought that the only big blocks that came in "our" trucks was the 402.
never heard of a 396 from the factory.

Re: is this a rare truck???

It was a true 396 in 1969. The switch was in 1970? or 1971?...then they became the 402. RARE might not be the best word to use but a hard to find, VERY NICE optioned truck it is! Long or short bed? Take a pictue of the sticker in the glove box and it will confirm the factory options.
Im sure everyone here would love to see pictures of it!

If it does that would make it ultra rare almost as hard to find as the Yenko C10

Re: is this a rare truck???

68 and 69 were 396 and 402 in 70 and older...just like in all chevy vehicles of the time. The 396 was no longer built after the end of the model year in 69, they were ALL 402s,,, camaro, chevelle, no0va, all of them.
This big block truck sounds like a run of the mill truck other than the engine and a tach... it may be way less common, but not super desirable
