Cool Square bodies bagged with stock a-arms

i really want to bag my truck. Id be happy to get a dropmember from PB built but cant afford that was thinking of using an upper plate and a bucket to put in my stock a-arms how low will it actually go? and also ive never really dealt with bags before so what all would i need to make it work? Also the rear would i be able to do a flip kit with some leafs removed and use a bag between the frame and axle just to get it to ride height? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Square bodies bagged with stock a-arms

If you go with a 3" dropped spindle, plates and stock arms, you can lay the control arms. You will need to pull the inner fenders, but it will lay hard on the arms. You can't get any lower with out a raised or sectioned crossmember, unless you Z or body drop.

Re: Square bodies bagged with stock a-arms

The CPP tubular arms are designed for this type of install. The CPP arms will allow the crossmember to hit the ground, NOT the arm. The extra ground clearance can make for a much improved ride.

You didnt have to modify anything? The notch just fit? the pinion angle must change a ton with how short those bars are.

Re: Square bodies bagged with stock a-arms

I had a kit like that on my '04 and it worked fine (little pricey for a 2 link though). The notch dropped right over the frame like its intended, so you just weld up the outside edges then cut the middle out. Only problem mine had was that the shock tabs on the bars were not at the same angle as the ones on the bridge so I had to do some tweaking to get the shocks bolted up.

Re: Square bodies bagged with stock a-arms

You can get a triangulated 4 link kit from Suicide Doors pretty cheap. That is what I have on my '86
