I just got my 72 burb roadworthy but the 700r4 has electric speedo connection. Can it be changed to the the cable driven type and what is needed?

Re: ?? electric speedo to cable speedo
thanks for the fast reply. I sure didnt expect it to cost that much to accomplish. I will have to stay without a speedo if thats my only option.

Re: ?? electric speedo to cable speedo
I haven't seen your other thread, so I don't know what is in there. May I correctly assume that the Cable-X and modified tailhousings have already been suggested? IMO, these are both rather high $ fixes. Unless you are dead set on a stock dash appearance, you can install an aftermarket electric speedo for a lot less money.

Re: ?? electric speedo to cable speedo
Thank you. I just now looked at that thread. Have you pulled the electrical connector out of your transmission and looked inside? If you have a gear in there, that fix will work. If you have a "reluctor", which looks like a small turbine vane, your job just got a bit harder. Please take a look at it and let us know what you find.
